Alexander Wang has teamed up with the likes of up and coming rapper A$AP Rocky to create a short video for Wangs Ready To Wear Menswear line Fall 2012. The video also includes Major Lazer producer Diplo and Penn Badgley. Shot in China, the video captures the day to day lives of these influential men and their evolving careers, a hint of what maybe inspires Wang as a trace of being his muses. A$AP in particular is what bought me to the video, being a fan of his music. Now known to be building relationships with the fashion heads, A$AP is becoming a regular on the front row and the Harlem, NYC native recently did a shoot for Interview Magazine supporting brands such as Jeremy Scott, 3.1 Philip Lim and SSUR Comme Des Fuckdown.
Alexander Wang has recently collaborated with other hip-hop artists influential to his lines most notably Azealia Banks for his T-Campaign which has had a few turned heads at the least. Fashion is turning to the hip hop community to embrace the looks and push the boundaries on attracting music talent to the Frow's. Not only has Azealia appeared in Wang's video she also performed 212 at Karl Lagrefeld's private dinner party.
