Kitty, Daisy & Lewis
After seeing this band at Bestival I really really like them. A lot. You know how some contemporary artists try to re-create swing and blues sensations but just don't? These guys do! The youngest Kitty, is sixteen. I wish i was that cool at sixteen ! These London kids remind me of more up beat Skip James but including this hawaiin rock n roll touch. The best bit? They don't use any computers or digital equipment to record their music, but 1940's and 1950's vintage microphones ! Thats how they get their sound so grainy and nostlagic.
